The Hydro Current
Energy news from Manitoba Hydro

Welcome to The Hydro Current - Manitoba Hydro's new quarterly electronic newsletter for wholesale customers, regulators, legislators and other stakeholders who have an interest in or a relationship with Manitoba Hydro.

Since 1919, Manitoba Hydro and its predecessors have been delivering clean, reliable hydropower to electricity customers in Manitoba. And we have been supplying this renewable energy into wholesale markets in the United States and Canada since the late 1960s, helping to diversify our region's power generation mix. As one of Canada's largest vertically integrated utilities, we are looking forward to being able to bring our virtually emissions-free electricity to an even wider market in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) region - and beyond - in the coming years.

We developed The Hydro Current to bring you the latest news of interest about our company and about energy trends in the centre of our continent. Whether it be information about integrating renewable hydropower with wind and solar developments, updates on our latest generation or transmission projects, or policy developments that can affect utilities on both sides of the border, The Hydro Current will aim to bring that to you in short, easily digestible stories...and video!

Please take the time to check out our inaugural edition. We hope you like it, and we welcome your feedback as to how we can make this even better going forward. Please don't hesitate to shoot us an email if you see something you like, don't like, or want to see! You can reach us at HydroCurrent@hydro.mb.ca.

Thanks for your interest in Manitoba Hydro, and we look forward to hearing from you!
