Meet Manitoba Hydro’s new Director, Energy Markets

If you’ve talked with Manitoba Hydro’s Energy Markets division in the past, you may already know Cheryl Sanclemente — and it is a great pleasure to introduce her as the division’s new director, effective May 2024.

Cheryl has over 25 years of experience in Energy Markets functions and was previously department manager of Manitoba Hydro’s wholesale power trading team where she led and supported work related to drought management, diversity contracts, day ahead trading, and performance management and governance. She has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

In her new role, Cheryl will play a key role working with Manitoba Hydro leadership to identify new opportunities — both inside and outside of Manitoba — to optimize value related to excess energy, gas supply, independent power production, renewable energy credits, and distributed generation.
